Throughout my career, I have honed my clinical knowledge and expertise in oncology, drug preparation, and patient management. In my current locum position at LOC Hospital (Leaders in Oncology Care), I have been actively involved in aseptic lab work, compounding oncology drugs, and attending to the meticulous post-compounding checks and dispensations. My direct exposure to oncology therapies has equipped me with the necessary skills to understand complex drug protocols, ensure patient safety, and maintain clear communication with the multidisciplinary team.

Further, my role as a shadowing pharmacist in a production unit provided me valuable insight into patient care, including reviewing blood test reports, calculating doses, and checking drug interactions. This hands-on experience has sharpened my attention to detail and solidified my understanding of the clinical processes vital to delivering safe and effective treatments.

My broad experience extends beyond hospital-based roles, as I have also worked as a locum and trainee pharmacist in community pharmacy settings. This has given me strong patient communication skills, the ability to perform clinical checks on prescriptions, and a deep understanding of patient counselling. My work at various hospitals, such as CCL and Royal Barnet Hospital, has strengthened my ability to handle oncology drugs, collaborate with healthcare professionals, and manage the complex logistics of pharmaceutical care.

In addition to my practical experience, I hold an MSc in Cancer Drugs with distinction from a UK university, further reinforcing my knowledge in the oncology field. My academic and professional background in pharmacology and cancer drugs, along with my continuous professional development in areas such as smoking cessation, health and safety, and employment law, has shaped me into a well-rounded healthcare professional.

I am particularly excited about the MSL Oncology role because it offers the opportunity to combine my scientific expertise with the ability to communicate complex information to healthcare professionals and stakeholders. My experience working in both clinical and patient-facing roles allows me to bridge the gap between research and practical application, ensuring that therapies are understood and utilized effectively in patient care.
